After earning praises from fellow media groups when unveiled for the first time in the public, the UNTV Mobile Radio Booth was recently credited for inspiring the launch of the Mobile Metro Base of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) this month.
The radio mobile booth is a brainchild of Kuya Daniel Razon for UNTV Radio La Verdad 1350 khz, Tapat at Totoo sa Serbisyo Publiko. The innovative concept is aimed at bringing live coverage of news on location.
MMDA chairperson Francis Tolentino takes pride at their new acquisition and credits Kuya Daniel for the inspiration. “Yung ginaya namin, modelo namin itong inyo, kaya siguro kapag naluma na ito, baka pwedeng idonate, eh tatanggapin namin,” (We based our mobile metro base on your mobile radio booth, so if this gets old, you might want to donate it, and we’ll gladly accept it.), specifically admiring the first-class construction and equipment of UNTV Mobile Radio Booth. Tolentino related their plans to pilot test an unmanned traffic monitoring aircraft in the coming weeks.
The Mobile Metro Base makes possible the traffic flow monitoring in remote points through closed circuit television (CCTV) and 360-degree view high definition cameras. Video footages are transmitted through wi-fi to its Makati headquarters.
The mobile command and communications van is also equipped with a microwave antenna and a back-up generator for emergency operations. It can be used to monitor not only vehicular flow but also outdoor activities such as rallies and concerts.
