APALIT, PAMPANGA – The chairman of Barangay Sampaloc in Apalit, Pampanga believes the lack of patrol vehicles during emergency situations is a gap that needs to be filled in. The predicament of his barangay made him consider asking Kuya Daniel Razon for help.
Upon learning of barangay chairman Melencio Catu’s request, Kuya Daniel Razon through UNTV and its public service partner, Members Church of God International (MCGI) immediately responded by giving the barangay not just the requested emergency vehicle.
Much to the surprise of the barangay chairman, Kuya Daniel also donated a tricycle patrol for the barangay’s peacekeeping operations.
“Minsan ko lang sinabi, kaagad niya ibinigay kaya very very proud ako. Masayang masaya talaga ako. Hindi ko naman hiningi yun kay Kuya pero nagbigay din ng motor,” said chairman Catu in the vernacular.
[I just asked once yet he (Kuya Daniel) immediately responded. I am overly delighted. I did not asked for it (tricycle patrol) but he gave one.]
“Kuya, salamat maraming salamat po sa pinapakita n’yong pagsasama-sama natin ngayon,” the Brgy. Sampaloc chairman added.
[To Kuya, thank you! Thank you very much for the cooperation that we had today.]
Lifesaving Charity
According to Catu, their current patrol vehicle cannot assist as much when there is a need for help simultaneously. The barangay patrol vehicle used to transport residents to a nearby hospital is not enough.
The emergency and patrol vehicle received by Barangay Sampaloc in behalf of its residents offers a big relief. The barangay officials are now more at ease performing their duties and assisting their constituents.
MCGI Representative Bro. Ricardo Erese personally donated the emergency-and-patrol vehicle for the barangay’s emergency response service.
“Ito po ay magagamit nila sa pagganap ng kanilang tungkulin, dagdag pa po ang tagubulin ng Kapatid na Eli [Soriano] at Kuya Daniel ang pagkakaroon po ng ambulansya na makakapagbigay po ng malaking serbisyo sa ating kababayan,” said Bro. Erese.
[They can use this (vehicle) in performing their duties. Bro. Eli and Kuya Daniel added to this donation an ambulance, which can render huge service to the residents.]
Apart from the donated response vehicles, there were over 300 residents of the barangay who received medical assistance for free. UNTV and MCGI were joined by public and private volunteers like pediatricians, doctors, optometrists and dentists.
Volunteer legal practitioners were also present to provide free assistance.
