UNTV Action Center delighted the residents of Barangay 176 in Caloocan City as it held a public service day with a medical mission, which observers described as the “largest” ever held in the area.
“This is the largest medical mission that has helped many recipients,” said Joel Bacolod, a Brgy. 176 spokesperson.
Already on its fourth edition, UNTV’s People’s Day was held last July 25 at Phase 1, Bgry. 176 Auditorium Covered Court, Bagong Silang, Caloocan City.
Bacolod thanked UNTV for taking its public service squad to serve his barangay, considered the largest barangay in the Philippines with a population of about 250,000.
“Our sincere thanks to Bro. Eli Soriano and Kuya Daniel Razon for their continuous support on this endeavor,” Bacolod expressed in an interview.

Bro. Eli Soriano of Ang Dating Daan, one of UNTV’s major sponsors, continuously supports this charity project by delivering experienced healthcare and dental work forces, providing free medicines, and preparing free meals for the volunteers.
Populace and Senior Care
Jacqueline Guinto, an unemployed wife of a construction worker, with her three children who suffered fever and cough for almost a week, is one of the residents of Brgy. 176 who lined up in the big crowd to avail free pediatric consultation and medicines.
Jacqueline was relieved of her worries for the medical expenses of her kids and was thankful: “I’m so happy because this free medical mission rarely occurs in our area. So, we’re thankful.”
Besides Jacqueline, senior citizens like Maura Udtuhan and Teresita Cervantes also benefited from this ‘People’s Day’.
Maura received free eye checkup and free reading eyeglasses. Teresita commended this outreach program of UNTV for helping many indigent people including her.
