Around 350 inmates received much-needed medical attention as Kuya Daniel Razon and UNTV’s Serbisyong Kasangbahay conducted a medical mission last December 8, 2016 at the General Mariano Trias Municipal Jail in Cavite.
Physical examinations, dental extractions and medicines, among others, were given for free by volunteer doctors, dentists and nurses during the said medical mission conducted by UNTV News and Rescue in partnership with Members Church of God International.
The medical mission was long-wanted for the said prison facility, which is in dire need especially of medical assistance from the government and civic groups to check and improve the health condition of its inmates.
Grateful for Genuine Charity
GMA Municipal Jail assistant warden JInsp. Aristeo Marasigan shared the condition of the jail’s inmates, saying, “Usually, sir, considering that jails are crowded and cramped, the illnesses they acquire here are coughs and colds as well as high blood pressure and toothaches.”
This being said, he is grateful for the genuine service provided by the Serbisyong Kasangbahay program of UNTV: “We are very thankful that this medical and dental mission was held.”
The jail’s inmates, many of whom are forgotten by their families and the society, showed intense gratitude for being remembered and being taken care of by Kuya Daniel. One of the inmates, Ambrocio Vicente, said in the vernacular, “I thank the Lord God for this medical mission because many of us here have no visitors and have illnesses and now we are given appropriate cure.”
“It is a big help as this will treat the illnesses we’re currently suffering from,” remarked Edgardo Gosarin, another jail inmate.
The Serbisyong Kasangbahay, conceptualized and hosted by Kuya Daniel, is the flagship public service-oriented program of UNTV.
The program, in partnership with various government and private groups and companies, gives all-around assistance to concerns such as medical, legal and government service inquiries. The program airs from Monday through Friday at 4:30-5:45 p.m. (PHT).
