Kuya Daniel Razon’s “Isang Araw: Ikatlong Yugto” received the Advocacy Award during the Philippine National Police’s Anti-Illegal Drugs Film Festival last July 18, citing its relevant message in resolving the drug menace in Philippine society.
The PNP film festival, organized by the police agency’s Police Community Relations Group (PNP-PCRG), was the first of its kind in line with the current administration’s ongoing campaign against rampant illegal drugs problem.
UNTV-BMPI President and CEO Kuya Daniel Razon, who directed, wrote and starred in the film, thanked the PNP for the award.
“We are really humbled that there are recognitions like this. But just the same, like what we always say, with or without recognition of our efforts, we will do good to others. We know that doing goodwill is part of our obligation that we need to fulfill while given the opportunity. To be given the opportunity unto others is an important thing for us to have,” said Kuya Daniel.
The third installment of the “Isang Araw” movie written, starred by and directed by Kuya Daniel, continues the saga of kind-hearted jeepney driver Daniel Baltazar (Kuya Daniel), his struggles to do good despite all the odds, and how he inspires people around him to do the same.
Since the film is focused on the issue of illegal drugs in the country, PNP Director General Ronald Dela Rosa, took a special participating role as part of the national police’s efforts to eradicate the problems brought about by the use of the illegal substance.
When asked if Dela Rosa is looking forward to do another movie with Kuya Daniel Razon, he answered, “Why not! if Kuya Daniel will direct the movie.”
We are very thankful to him, to UNTV, to Kuya Daniel, we owe him a lot, so I am willing anytime,” added the PNP Chief.
The other films that participated in the PNP film festival included “Banyuhay,” “Batak Bata,” “High Na Si Lola,” “Toktok Hangyo,” “Tanpos,” “Kutob,” and “Sais Bente Tres”, which took home the Best Film award.
The official selections will be aired through the PNP’s program at UNTV News and rescue, “Pulis @ Ur Serbis.”
The other films selected were submissions coming from the Polytechnic University of the Philippines, La Consolacion College (Manila), and Eulogio “Amang” Rodriguez Institute of Science and Technology (EARIST).
