A free service even for just one day in a year.
Daniel Razon is calling on doctors and lawyers to join his campaign of Isang Araw Lang (Just One Day) that urges for citizens to make a difference even for just one day.
Kuya Daniel is BMPI-UNTV Chairman and CEO and the progenitor of the advocacy movement that recently aired its campaign videos inviting doctors and lawyers to render free medical and legal services even for just one day to help the poor Filipinos.
“To all the doctors and lawyers, we have Isang Araw Lang advocacy whereby you will open your clinics, your law offices…and you will offer your services for free,” remarked Kuya Daniel in one of the episodes of UNTV’s morning program, Good Morning Kuya.
The veteran broadcaster reiterated this bold call late in 2013, highlighting the great extent of help the professionals can offer.
“I believe that throughout the Philippines, if there is always a clinic open to offer free services, many will be benefited … so let’s try to be part of it,” Kuya Daniel added.
Launched in 2009 and now the biggest and most influential campaign of UNTV, Isang Araw Lang encourages people who have the ability and the capacity to reach out their hands to the less fortunate even for a day.
The advocacy traces its birth from a question of Kuya Daniel during one episode of Good Morning Kuya. He asked: “What if any Filipino who has the capacity to give sacrifices just one day for his fellowmen in need?”
For the past years, Isang Araw Lang has touched the lives of many with the kind of services – medical, dental, legal, educational and livelihood assistance – rendered freely to everyone, regardless of the culture, race, and religion.
This long-standing advocacy of UNTV also supports the transient home, orphanages, and infant care center maintained by the Members Church of God International (MCGI) through the Kamanggagawa Foundation Inc. and Ang Dating Daan Foundation International.
The nationwide simultaneous blood donation activity of the MCGI, mounted every quarter of the year in collaboration with UNTV and the Philippine Red Cross, is also part of the endeavor.
Razon believes the advocacy will not do any harm to the supporters, and to the benefactors.
The essence of the campaign is very fittingly captured by its tagline, “Ang paggawa ng mabuti ay hindi magbubunga ng masama (Good deeds will bear no evil fruit).”
