At the Araneta Coliseum on May 17, 2010, some of the country’s greatest musical artists lend their voices to pay tribute and help raise funds for the bereaved families of the more than 57 journalists and media men who were murdered in the Maguindanao Massacre.
The bodies of the deceased UNTV correspondents and media people were flown from Maguindanao to Manila. Supporters and sympathizers flocked the UNTV head office in Edsa, Quezon City to cry for justice.
At the burial service of Daniel Tiamzon, one of four UNTV correspondents murdered in Maguindanao, the cry of the people who attended remained the same: justice.
Dubbed “Up Close: 26th Year in Public Service,” the event was held last November 2009 at the Palacio De Manila in celebration of Daniel Razon’s more than two decades of public service works.
Daniel Razon celebrated his 27th anniversary in public service through the launch of numerous outreach projects that included mobile schools, news-and-rescue mission units, and more. The event was held last November 28, 2010 at the One Esplanade in Pasay City.
For its massive emergency response operations during the peak of the New Year revelry, UNTV, led by Daniel Razon, deployed news-and-rescue- mobile units and response teams around Metro Manila in line with its new brand of journalism, Tulong Muna Bago Balita (Assist Before Reporting).
Y Con Con or Youth Convention and Concert gathered the youth crowd last July 2009 at the Araneta Coliseum for a night of music and advocacy to do good even for just one day!
UNTV celebrated its sixth year in public service last July 2010 at the World Trade Center in Pasay City. On top of the launch of numerous social service projects, Daniel Razon unveiled his Tulong Muna Bago Balita (Assist First Before Reporting) advocacy.
As part of his commitment to improve not only the welfare of people, Daniel Razon through UNTV, joined the Ang Dating Daan group in mounting the country’s biggest tree-planting activity called ADD-A-Tree Project. More than 70,000 seedlings were planted during the event held in various places in the country last October 10, 2010 or 10.10.10.
